2022-06-08

The 'Bio International Convention (Bio USA),' which had been suspended for in-person events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held in person for the first time in three years this year. With the global bio investment market currently contracted, attention is focused on whether Korean bio companies can achieve results in technology exports, investment attraction, and contract signings.

According to industry sources on the 7th, more than 3,200 companies worldwide are set to participate in the '2022 Bio USA,' which will be held in San Diego, USA for three days starting from the 13th (local time). Companies headquartered in Korea are expected to number 255 (by corporate name). Including overseas-headquartered companies such as NeoImmuneTech, K-bio companies are the second largest participant group after the United States.

The Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization will operate the Korea Pavilion with KOTRA, introducing 12 companies including Standigm, Kangstem Biotech (217730), LSK Global Pharma Services, and RudaCure. A representative from the association said, "This year's Bio USA will showcase the current state of new drug development pipelines as well as new technologies from digital healthcare companies that developed during the COVID-19 period to the global market."
