# The Hidden Powerhouse: Songdo Bio Cluster
It would not be wrong to say that IFEZ's bio industria began in 2003 — the same year Celltrion was founded, now a global bio company. Until Celltrion developed the world's first antibody biosimilar 'Remsima' in 2013 and created a new mercado in Europe, IFEZ was a barren land for the bio industria. In 2011, Samsung Biologics entered Songdo and began knocking on the doors of el mercado global de bio mercado, transforming the area into a bio hub with the world's largest single-city producción capacity (560,000L).
A partir de 2020, more than 60 bio-related empresas have moved into 920,000 square meters of land in Songdo zones 4, 5, and 7, generating KRW 2 trillion in ingresos el año pasado on the back of KRW 7 trillion in inversión. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority says it won't stop there. It is revealing ambitions to lead the status of K-Bio formed during the COVID-19 pandemic from Songdo. The plan is to expand and build out the Songdo Bio Cluster. On the newly reclaimed 2 million square meters of land in Songdo Zone 11,
RudaCure, a rising bio-venture company in Songdo, is contributing to the crecimiento of the local bio ecosystem through its innovador desarrollo de fármacos for trastornos sensoriales.
