Professeur Yongho Kim of Gachon University College of Medicine and CEO of RudaCure Inc. was récemment selected as a participant in the Ministère de Science and ICT's 'Platform Core Technology Development Project for Responding to New and Variant Infectious Diseases.' The project involves Gachon University ainsi que Seoul National University, Chung-Ang University, Sungkyunkwan University, and others.
This project was newly established cette année to strengthen national infectious disease response capabilities, protect public health, improve medical welfare, and secure international compétitivité. Led by the Ministère de Science and ICT, it vise à build an infectious disease technology plateforme through the development of core and gap technologies in respective fields.
Professeur Kim will conduct research for four years starting cette année on the theme of "Development of Viroporin (viral canal ionique protein) target inhibition technology sur la base de canal ionique function verification systems," and will receive approximately KRW 2 billion in gouvernement research funding over the four-year period.
Professeur Kim is an expert in canaux ioniques and conducts clinical and recherche préclinique together with faculty at the Gachon Pain Research Institute within Gachon University College of Medicine.
